Greetings from Indianapolis Cheapcycle! Your online resource to buy, sell, and trade. A new kind of yard sale, flea market, garage sale, whatever you want to call it, it is here for you. And on a much more local level than craigslist, saving us all some gas.

Welcome to IndianapolisCheapcycle!
We are glad that you have joined this group. The purpose of this letter is to
explain how we operate, why certain rules are designed the way they are, and
how we differ from other groups and sales sites.
You may or may not be a member of other groups, and your experiences at other
groups may or may not be similar to the way this site is operated. While this
site does operate as a Yahoo Group, it is not designed to be a group per se.
Think of this much like you would think of placing an ad in the classified
section of the newspaper. This site only places ads. We are NOT a little eBay and we are NOT a catalog store. We are not a discussion group and this site
is not operated by voting or by consensus. The management team decides how the group is designed and operated.
During the development of this site, there has been input from many different
people. The history and experiences during the first 9 months guided us into
deciding what rules were needed and would work best for the most people. You may wonder why a rule is what it is, and I assure you there is a reason or
several reasons why it was added. When new issues come up, there have been,
and will continue to be, changes made to address the issues.
This site was created and developed locally, for just this local area, the
area surrounding Indianapolis. There are other Cheapcycle groups, but each one is independent, with their own rules and methods of operation.
Our goal is to provide an online site for placing ads for selling used and
unwanted items, for items to be available for pickup rather than being
shipped, for items to be viewed before making a commitment to purchase. Other
things are allowed to be posted, but these are limited. Please review the
RULES file for info about these, which include yard sales, services, online
sites, real estate, pets, home business products, etc.
The management team reviews, and may edit, all ads. When an ad is sent in, it will be held pending until one of us reviews it. If more info is needed, you
will be sent an email as to what is needed. We do this to assure that all
messages are within the rules and also include the required information. We
attempt to treat all ads with equitable treatment, that no one takes unfair
advantage of this site or the members in what is posted. If and when you hear
from us, it is not a reprimand. We are simply communicating with you on what
is needed in your posting.
We do NOT accept ads for making bids. We do NOT accept ads that say "make
offer" unless there is also an asking price. It is allowed to post a price
and then say make offer, but it is not allowed to post items without prices.
For groups of items, it is allowed that you give a range for the prices, such
as "prices range from $1 to $5".
When a person inquires about an item, it is an inquiry. At no time is a
person to be made to believe that they are obligated to purchase until they
have seen the item.
Availability for pickup of items is required, but it is allowed for a member
to offer shipping as an option. If buyer and seller choose to have the item
shipped, be aware there are no support services from this site. It is
strictly between buyer and seller. If you choose shipping, it is between
buyer and seller how you handle the transaction. This site was designed so
that a prospective buyer can view the item before purchasing, and if you
choose to do otherwise, that is strictly your business.
We, the management team, volunteer our time to make this site work for you.
We are not paid and do not receive any remuneration in any way. We do this to
help you, our community, to be able to participate in buying, selling, and
trading, and in finding services for your own personal needs. We offer our
assistance with writing ads, using photos, adding entries into the group
sites, and whatever help you may need.
