About dcorsetto:

I'm a full-time cartoonist/illustrator in a gorgeous little town called Shepherdstown in West Virginia.

I graduated in 2004 from Shepherd with a degree in photography. I still use it from time to time, but rarely for profit. I love my old 4x5 Graflex.

My claims to fame are Girls With Slingshots (gwscomic.com) and the New Adventures of Bat Boy, which was featured in the Weekly World News until it tanked. I mostly draw and write comic strips, but like to tackle other sequential art formats.

I'm a little out of the way (DC and Baltimore are about 1.5/2 hours from here, closest big cities to me), so I'll gladly ship as long as people are willing to help by PayPalling me the shipping costs! Also I do a lot of caricature gigs in DC/Frederick/Baltimore and some regions of Viriginia, so if I need to drop off I might be able to on certain days (most likely weekends). Just ask!

What I would like to find:

I'm currently on the lookout for a GOOD full/double bed frame. I've got a depression-era twin bed frame right now, and it's a tank, but GOD it's tiny! I just adopted two cats, and the bed's not big enough for the three of us. I'm also a Girl Scout leader, so I'm always on the lookout for, you know, leftover working markers/crayons, packs of construction paper, useable safety scissors, extra fabric, that sort of thing. I would rather give than find, however - living in a hippie college town for 8 years has made me into a reusing/not wasting fanatic. I'm constantly hoarding things that I can't use anymore because I don't want to just throw them away - we've become such a "disposable" society, and I'd rather just reuse things. I'm not grossed out about drinking out of someone's old cups or wearing someone's old shoes (that's what socks are for), so if you're anything like me, you'll be sure to find use for a lot of the junk I'll be giving away on here.

My Interests:

Camping, hiking, traveling, cross-country road trips, fantasizing about driving through northern Canada, photography, watching fantastic movies, finding good comic books, singing in the car, taking the train, visiting friends in NYC, the few thrilling moments while the plane is taking off the runway, cooking, sewing, Girl Scouts (almost 20 years... yeah, I know, it's geeky), church bells, train whistles, living next to a river, drinking girly drinks (that and shopping are my two guilty girly pleasures), Woodchuck Cider, making my own clothes, LOVE animals, taking very long walks... point is, I love a lot of stuff.

Music:

Regina Spektor, Belle & Sebastian, Led Zeplin, Journey (guilty as charged), Roger Clyne & the Peacemakers, Stellar Watson (local - look them up!!), Elliot Smith, Jeff Buckley, Spacehog, DJ Shadow, Beck, Dressy Bessy, Aimee Mann, Mates of State, Nick Drake, White Stripes, Death Cab, old bluegrass, classic rock, old jazz... sooooo, basically everything.

Books:

Zen Shorts (Muth), Alias (Bendis/Gaydos), Watership Down, Bluebeard (or anything by Vonnegut), Youth In Revolt (C.D. Payne).

Television:

Family Guy & Quantum Leap, Mythbusters. I haven't had TV in 8 years and I rarely watch it. Although I'd really love to work for Cartoon Network. We'll see...

Movies:

Garden State, Lost in Translation, Broken Flowers, Ghostbusters, just about anything by Pixar or Focus.
