Setting Up Revenue Sharing

If you have your own freecycling group on FreeMesa.org, you should take advantaged of the revenue sharing program. This program will share the ad revenue from the google ads on the top and right hand sides of the group pages with your organization to help cover your costs and help you fund your own operations. We recognize that running a group takes time and effort, and saving the world isn't easy, so FreeMesa would like to help. The instructions below will help you get your freecycle group set up to participate in the revenue sharing.

For these instructions to work, we assume you have already created the freecycling group on FreeMesa. If you haven't yet, you will want to follow these instructions to create your freecycling group here. The revenue sharing link can be found on the left hand tool bar on the group main page titled 'Revenue Sharing'.

Step 1: Log Into Google AdSense

In order for us to pay you, you need to have a Google Account. Don't worry, its easy to set up, and it's free.

Step 2: Click AdSense Setup

After Logging in, you should see the "AdSense Setup" Tab in the top left corner of the browser. Click on this

Step 3: Select AdSense for Content

This screen is to pick which kind of Ad we want to create. Click on the AdSense for Content link.

Step 4: Click Continue

This window lets us select which style we would like. The first radio is checked, which is what we want. Click Continue.

Step 5: Click Continue

This window is to select the color and style of the ads. Since the ads will match the style of your group automatically, all you need to do is click Continue

Step 6: Click Continue

This is an option for advanced reporting. Click Continue.

Step 7: Select Your Code

This is the code we need! Click on the text, it should highlight. Then copy it (Control+C) and Paste it (Control+V) into the FreeMesa Revenue Sharing Window where it says "AdSense Code"

Step 8: Click Update!

After you have Pasted the Code into the Click the Button and you are Done! It's that Easy. In about 48 hours you should start to see some traffic numbers on your AdSense Account.
