FreeMesa 2.0!!
After months of work, FreeMesa 2.0 is finally live!
We basically rebuilt the entire website from the ground up. Some of the changes you can't really see - like the revamped database architecture - but you should really notice the website loading much faster and performing much better.
More Free Stuff!
We also completely rewrote the posting offers/requests section to make that much easier to use AND we now have thumbnails of the items both on the website and in our nightly emails. Also, the reporting of inappropriate posts has been substantially improved, so keeping the site free, fun, and family friendly should be much easier than before!
Stuff for Charities!
The charity section is also getting a boost. We have had the option for charities to have a 'Wish List' of items that they are always in need of for their daily operations for years.
However, this was on a section of the website that wasn't really well traveled, and we never really promoted it. This has changed! We now include in each nightly email a featured local charity - a group that is within driving distance to your home, and a request for an item they need to help them do what they do. A lot of organizations are struggling now to get the word out about their cause and to get the things they need to help others. This should help them with that.
Languages!
Soon, FreeMesa will be coming to you live in multiple languages. Adding this support is one of the biggest changes we've made. As we get the site translated, we will be going live in multiple countries around the world. Germany is first on our list, and if all goes well, the German language version of the site should be up by the end of September or early October, followed quickly by French and Spainish.
Contests!
We are also looking forward to running some contests and give-aways over the next few weeks to help encourage people to try out the new site. Stay tuned! It's going to be fun!
