There have been some major changes to the site that I am very excited to tell you about. Without further ado..
Groups!
We have worked for months to create the first Groups on the Internet designed specifically to help out the Freecycling cause. If you have a group on FreeMesa, you have your own distance based offers/requests forum so your group can freecycle and swap free stuff amongst yourselves (or not so free stuff - it is your private group after all!), customizable look and feel, and advanced moderation features. To see just how cool this feature is, watch the demo. It's pretty amazing. It is safe to say that this feature is the biggest addition to the site since we went live. Now business can recycle their old computers, churches can coordinate their events, and environmental groups are more empowered than ever before. This is going to rock!
Not to be Out Done, Zip Codes!
Another major change to the site is the switch over to a new distance based system. Now if someone posts an item within 35 miles of your house (or any distance you want to drive), you will get an email about it. Not only does this work in the US, we have this working in 49 countries around the world! Pretty much, if your country has a Postal Code, we've got you covered. All of this is just part of our never-ending quest to make freecycling your stuff easier and more effective than ever before. I hope you like it!
