Hello!
We have been working hard to improve the site to make it even easier to freecycle, and we would like let you know about some of the changes. The biggest addition is the 'Neighborhoods' feature. In addition, we have included email notifications, international groups, a global forum, along with lots of other features and improvements.
Neighborhoods
This is an amazing feature that we are very happy to bring you! This feature allows you to create a personalized message board with a list of all of the free stuff from all of the cities you chose. Even better, if you select the option, the website is now enabled to send you emails whenever anyone posts new free stuff or requests in a city in your neighborhood. This way you no longer have to post on multiple forums, or spend your time searching through multiple lists trying to see what's available.
Email Notifications
We have enabled the site to send messages whenever someone has responded to a posting of yours, or sent you a message or a friend request. Now you will no longer be kept in suspense when someone would like to take your items.
International Groups
This was our most requested feature for the site. We are now proud to offer the ability for people from around the globe to freecycle!
Global Forum
This was another highly requested item. There was no centralized meeting place where you could talk and exchange ideas with people from all over the world. Well, now there is, and now you can!
General News
We are still new, but we are growing strong. The site has been averaging a growth of 9% per day, which isn't too shabby. We are currently working on several novel ways to get the word out, so stay tuned. We are really quite excited about them :) If you haven't already, tell your friends! It's going to be big!
